Sylvia Waterloo (1961) was born in Aruba, and moved to The Netherlands when she was a teenager. She finished her degree at the Academy of Art in Haarlem in 2014. As a true Caribbean woman, she has returned many times to her native island and also views Curaçao as one of her homes. Sylvia’s art usually tells a story, depicting circumstances in life that affects her and her environment.
